Haika Coffee

My friend and I wanted to visit Tai O to see the lanterns for Mid-Autumn Festival, but seeing all the crowds there on social media, we decided to go to Cheung Chau instead. Visiting Haika Coffee right after arriving at the island made a good start. I ordered this Lemon Black coffee on a warm Sunday afternoon. One pro tip: do not stir the coffee! The soda water in the bottom will form a stream of bubbles, flowing your coffee on the table…(sorry for making a mess…) Nevertheless, the coffee was a great one. I wish there was a stronger lemon flavour though, my lemon flavour layer had probably been spilled... My friend ordered this Early Grey Chiffon Cake, and it’s a very delicious one! Spongy chiffon cake with a very enjoyable layer of earl grey flavor cream. Nom! I came for the Dirty Tart. It was sold out when we first visited, but we were lucky enough that a second batch was baked before we left, and we got to try this super tasty tart! This Dirty Tart is actually made with a bottom pudding layer with a top layer of lava chocolate. The crust was cookie like, very crunchy and yummy. The tart was supreme! The pudding had a nice and strong egg flavour, and the lava chocolate was oh-so-good! I am so glad that we got to try this Dirty Tart! Absolutely coming back again if I visit Cheung Chau next time.

A very lovely coffee shop near the ferry terminal on the island. Nice interior and exterior, friendly staff. LOVED the dirty tart - it wasn’t heavy and the chocolate with custard was an amazing combination. Coffee is good as well. Do support them!

I absolutely love this coffee shop! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for relaxing or getting work done. The boss is always friendly and knowledgeable, making great recommendations if you’re unsure what to order. Their coffee is fantastic – rich, smooth, and clearly made with care. They offer a great selection of pastries and snacks that pair perfectly with any drink. I highly recommend trying their signature latte – it’s a real treat! Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re a coffee lover! The “Dirty Tart” is absolutely delightful! The crust is perfectly buttery and crisp, providing the ideal balance to the creamy, flavorful filling. Each bite melts in your mouth, and the freshness of the ingredients really shines through. Definitely a must-try if you’re a dessert lover – it’s like a little piece of heaven on a plate!”

Great cafe, we had an iced matcha latte and a tasty chocolate/egg tart. Really helpful staff, who spoke English and we could pay with Mastercard. Definitely recommend for a coffee/cake stop

"Top 3 Cold Brew I have ever had!" ##Food Highlights## - Cold Brew: It was a smooth, light-bodied cold brew with the right bitterness, sourness and a very obvious note of honeydew. It was not from syrup, just coffee. Served in solid ice cube. A heavenly delicacy. ##Environment and Experience## - A camping-themed cafe with a covered outdoor area. A chill weekend vibe, matching the Cheung Chau atmosphere - I planned for an iced black coffee but the owner kindly offered a free sample of the cold brew. I was touched by the hospitality, and the recommenedation was worth every single penny!

Cute camping style café in Cheung Chau. Don’t expect comfy seating , mostly foldable chairs. Long wait during peak hours. Tried the Dirty Tart (rich chocolate, crispy crust), crème brûlée (decent), iced matcha latte and cappuccino (average). Food and drinks were okay, nothing outstanding. Worth a visit for the vibe and photos, but not for the food alone.

Tried the iced latte and espresso tonic and the cookies. Loved the coffee and the cookies were ok. However, I would definitely return to this place because the service has been great both times I went. It’s also clean. The espresso tonic was especially nice on a warm day. Cool ambiance and fun to sit in the outdoor seating to enjoy the weather, coffee, and people watch.
